The guided tour in English at the exhibition of contemporary art “(Un)Balanced: Exhibition About Noticing and Peace of Mind” is led by the art historian and curator Karin Vicente.

This exhibition deals with the issue of looking after mental health. It invites us to reflect on how to maintain a balance between joys and sorrows, work and leisure, and how to cope with changes or difficulties. Painful topics include loneliness, exhaustion and burnout, but the works displayed also encourage viewers to see the brighter side of life and to find joy in everyday moments. The exhibition features works by eight contemporary artists: Ingrid Allik, Merle Kannus, Flo Kasearu, Karel Koplimets, Urmas Lüüs, Piret Räni, Maret Sarapu and Sigrid Viir.

The exhibition tour is part of the special programme “Introducing Estonian Art in European Languages”, which introduces Estonian cultural heritage in six different European languages.
Guided tours in English, Swedish, Hungarian, Portuguese, Spanish and Danish will be carried out by the Art Museum’s curators from 9 May to 12 May in the Niguliste Museum and the Adamson-Eric Museum. The tours will introduce Estonian art from the Middle Ages to modern times and provide fascinating insights into Estonian cultural history.

This contemporary art exhibition invites viewers to consider issues related to mental health and well-being. How can we maintain a comfortable balance between joy and sorrow, work and leisure? Why do things sometimes get out of balance?
